it's been a bit over 2 weeks since brunolito has passed away, the funerals were last friday. i had not looked forward to this moment, but as we all gathered and remembered, missing pieces of the puzzle came into sight. it made us understand his departure a bit better, allthough nothing we "see" will justify this decision. it was sunny and warm, the cemetary is just at the brink of a forest - he chose a nice spot to rest.

apart from mourning a friends death, life has caught up with me again. work is pilling up on me and not getting any smaller. no help is to be awaited, i'll have to work shifts. mktg. sucks. main motto in the field: never show feelings, you're a machine. you belong to whoever owns you. modern slavery.
somehow, as bruno was unemployed and struggling to find a new place to work, he mentioned his undeniable deep thoughts about starting to feel the pressure more than ever. i slowly start to understand. we are being put under pressure to deliver our shareholders visions and wallets. peoples working qualities are being stretched in order not to employ anyone more that will cost - will it really? - more?
human resources they call it - un_human resources is more likely what it is.

i guess we are machines, we just continue on, minding our business and life, not showing our affection enough, not telling the people we love how much we appreciate them. we go on. like machines.
sad in a way. protection in an other.

a week since katrina hit new orleans and the southern coastal states of the us. a week in which a natural catastrophy has terminated and ruined the lives of thousands and thousands of people, a week in which a president has been on vacation, rallying a party in san francisco with his political buddies and now is all of a sudden "filled with compassion" as he puts it, a week for a government to turn this sad event into a social crisis and possible political favour. bravo!

let's face it. dubya, you are the man. really. you make my brain tinggle, for sure. you are a superhero in terms of emergency management, a real son-of-a ****! I love you.
should've asked our gov. to send in some trained avalanche dogs with rum barrels and some electric heating appliances, you would've hit it off in the polls my man.

luvly. and even after in nov. 2004 a journalist revealed what would've happened if "ivan" had hit new orleans, no one manages to bring up a major working plan to handle a situation like this. but hell, dubyas gov. still thinks global warming is a homecoming party. let's not be all too harsh.
i guess this will be a sad lesson to learn, especially for the "second" class citizens which suffer the most. hopefully, future governments and emergency help centers, such as the "they doo ay heckofajob" FEMA, learn out of their mistakes.

finally some rest. after a 48 houre deluge this past weekend and a local 620cubicmeter/sec. of waterflow in the Reuss, armageddon had hit us again, after 6 years of rest. 4 people died in the meantime (luckily no more) and an estimated 4 Billion CHF in damage, this was by far the worst summerrain we had.

in portugal, woodland the size of the German Saarland has been devastaded by fire, because they lack in water. we've had more than our share lately. I wish, whoever is at the weather control could've balanced this a bit more.

i fear, the end is not yet to be seen, the Rhein will certainly overflow due to the heavy downpour in mountain-ridden Switzerland.

drastic pictures ahead (Lucerne). the north/south routes still not operational, which means traffic jams will be a daily routine until everything is back to normal...

In the 16th and 17th centuries, everything had to be transported by ship and it was also before commercial fertilizer's invention, so large shipments of manure were common. It was shipped dry, because in dry form it weighed a lot less than when wet, but once water (at sea) hit it, it not only became

the hold would not touch this volatile cargo and start the production of methane. Thus evolved the term "S.H.I.T.", (Ship High In Transit) which has come down through the centuries and is in use to this very day.
