he alone is the reason, why germany is reunited!
actually, that is his claim!
and for the ones out there not knowing why mr. knight-hoff made such a bold statement: he once sang his undisputed smash hit, "I've been looking for freedom" before the Brandenburger Gate, shortly before the wall came down. what an achievement.
oh, and to alex and thomas:
maybe this will additionally spice up your recent presentation in nice!

damage
With all the news on TV lately about the extreme weather conditions affecting the East Coast of the US, the mud slides in the Middle East and South America, along with the dire predictions made by such films as "The Day After Tomorrow", we shouldn't forget that Switzerland has its share of devastating weather too.
I've attached a photo illustrating the damage caused to a friend's home from a storm that passed through the german part last night, below.
It really makes you cherish what you have, and reminds us not to take things for granted!

thoughts
what does happiness mean? to what is it related? why this endless search and hunt for peace of mind through stress and harm? yes, yes, some will say "the path is the goal", which I fully agree, but to what extent? I know, vacations are just behind, and probably it's just the daily disgust rampaging in my mind, still. I fear the next 30 or so years to come. Not for the sake of work, but actually for the factor of not working...what crisis lay ahead of us, what implications for us and our children, what lessons to teach and learn? bottom line, everyone thrives for self fulfilment and happiness, why is it so damn hard then to take up the path.
right, dear ego, since you push yourself through my string of thoughts, why don't you respond to this.
because I want this, I want that, I am not happy with this, I am not happy with that, we have to change this, we have to change that.....gimme, gimme, gimme and gimme even more...and *nagnagnag*
ok, ok...son, have a break.
will this make us happier?
thirst for things that go oooh!, or ahhhh! and pfff! or vroooooom! ??
ok, I agree, it does to a great deal to most of us, me included. I mean, who does not like new clothes, new car, phone etc, etc...but I have the strong belief that we need to alter something within our habits and how we behave. maybe, all this shit going on right now, I have to call it Bush-ism(*), will really bring the best in us. but so far, I've only seen the worst. and that goes for media, politics and society.
I just can't seem to find a balance between the lust for the shiny goods and the ever long thirst for inner peace, besides my wife and family that give me a great deal of support (in any way possible).
I had the strangest dream, lately; in order to graduate, everyone would have to travel the world, all continents without fix income and report to their relatives of the undergone adventures and encounterd hazzards. I remember that all people were fulfilled with a strong understanding of themselves, as well for nature and other customs. well, I do believe that this would make us better people.the dalai lama once said, "be thankful, be very thankful" and I guess he is right. we ought to be thankful, for good and bad, and accepting the battles in honour and taking the strikes humbly. that will lead to understanding and acceptance, hopefully; cuz' I am opting for that solution.
too everyone reading this: Live strong!
